Penn State Depth Chart & Injury Report: TicketCity Bowl

Penn State will miss receiver/quarterback Curtis Drake for the 2012 TicketCity Bowl. (Mike Pettigano/BSD)

Penn State will miss receiver/quarterback Curtis Drake for the 2012 TicketCity Bowl. (Mike Pettigano/BSD)

Big changes for this one. Four players missed the trip to Dallas: Curtis Drake, Shawney Kersey, Derrick Thomas and Paul Jones. Two of the losses are pretty tolerable. But McGloin and Drake will be sorely missed.

Here is where things stand, as of last night...

Injuries

Beside a mild case of turf toe for Devon Still, there haven't been any new injuries since the last game. Brandon Beachum, Pat Zerbe, Garry Gilliam, Pete Massaro and Michael Mauti are all out.

With a month to prepare, you have to wonder what Jay Paterno and Galen Hall came up with for the offense without McGloin or Drake. Paterno is likely auditioning for another coaching job, so keeping things buttoned up on offense is likely out the window for tomorrow.

If JayPa & Galen

are truly pulling out all the stops, I hereby predict the world’s first quintuple reverse. Imagine this:

Bolden tosses to Redd who pitches to Moye reversing field who pitches to Belton coming the other way who pitches to Redd coming back the other way who pitches to Bolden coming off a block from the other direction who pump fakes a deep throw to Moye, but pitches to Moo Moo who initially ran a 20 yard out but came back around who takes for a gain of 4.

Also: we will call this play at least three times.

Are you kidding?

No one would fall for that pump fake.

I got dizzy and threw up

just reading that!

Moo Moo

Trips over blades of grass 3 times during this play.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that

we run the fullback dive at least once. probably three times.

And that Bolden will complete his first screen pass of all time.

Redd will torch the Houston D to the outside and Green will have a long run through the middle of the D.

Devon Smith catches a touchdown pass… unless he drops it… eh. I figure at one point he will be wide open and the ball will hit his hands… what happens from there who knows.

I’m also hoping Moye goes out on a good note. Him and Bolden had some chemistry last year but I didnt really see any of that in Bolden’s time this year. Here’s to a Michigan State(end game) like performance from Moye.

And our D is our D. The expectations are the expectations. Either Stupar or Sukay with a pick. Hopefully both.

Penn State 35
Houston 17

I hope you're right

I played under 55.5

lotta movement this morning….was at 7.7 then 7 then 6.5 now at 7 again

Under 55.5?

That’s ballsy.

i don't see us scoring, and i can see Houston having problems for a couple quarters
by having problems for a couple quarters

I apparently mean 1 minute 52 seconds

Two third and longs.

blech.

Last I checked they are a conference USA team and we're still Penn State right?
I don't know if we're winning this one

35-21 Houston

34-10 houston
Eh, you might be right on the 55.5

Bolden won’t help things.

thank you for seeing the

wisdom of my ways

:)

I don't see any way Houston puts up 35 on our defense

And I have a hard time believing they score less than 30. Redd and Green may combine for 300 yards against this defense.

OK I was wrong.
It's all about PSU..

if they want the game they should win. If they go through the motions it will be ugly. I see the later. 35-10 Houston.

And the first thing out of the announcers mouth is the Sandusky scandal

Hoping they just had to get it out of their system

But I doubt it.

I hope they can get to just talking about the game.

At least they didnt call it the Penn State scandal.

Thats a huge step for ESPN.

Wonder if it's the same for a Syracuse basketball game
Wow, there's nobody there
Holy empty stadium
Houston should feel right at home then.
where's the open thread?
Houston is small.
We're about to witness the birth of the Air Bolden offense
Two failed screens
Put on a hat - you'll get cold

Should of had him

OH C'MON, BRING HIM DOWN

WE HAVE MISSED SO MANY SACKS THIS YEARS

only 1 LB in on that play

Time for our Offense to step up
