Bo Ryan can certainly BYAHH with the best of them. (Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images)
The nearly week-long break is over for Pat Chambers' crew. Hopefully, they made the most of it, because a Top 20 Wisconsin team comes barreling into Happy Valley tonight, and it's highly unlikely they forgot the fact they lost two out of three meetings with Penn State last season, including the infamous Big Ten Tournament quarterfinal that made even middle school girls' teams blush.
Tipoff is at 8:00 PM ET and can be seen on BTN. Radio-wise, your options tonight are Sirius Ch 92, or these local affiliates. Also, if you haven't read it yet, please check out Eric's awesome preview of this contest.
And as always, the same live game thread rules apply: No porn, no links to illegal video streams of the game, and no comments that you wouldn't dare say to somebody's face (i.e. anything racist, homophobic, threatening, and the like). Game on.

We've got this one
It’s in the bag baby.

Great start, 8-6 PSU under 16 TO.
Midrange game working off the curl cuts. PSU has scored on 4 of their first 6 possessions.
Hopefully we can keep it up.

Pat Chambers=class act
Love the black sneakers and rolled up khakis!
wonderlin - January 31, 2012
No way, that's awesome
LAPSU - January 31, 2012
Ehhh
Strong defense from Wisky there. PSU can’t go scoreless in these 4 minute games between media TOs. They missed 6 consecutive shots, some easy, in that period.
Wisky up 9-8 with 11:55 to play in the 1st.

Following the score on Yahoo/Rivals
There are Wisconsin fans complaining about how Bo Ryan doesn’t win enough in the comments. Not sure if it’s trolling or actual fans. Either way, I’d gladly take the success Bo Ryan has. If Pat Chambers can get us to that level I’ll be very, very happy.

D looking decent so far.
So is Marshall.
James - January 31, 2012
I love his big smiles after almost every shot he makes.
James - January 31, 2012
Pat Chambers is a boss.
Not being able to watch the game is killing me. How do we look?

Jermaine Marshall put the team on his back
PSU went on a 10-0 run, but Taylor responded for Wisconsin. They look out of whack, thanks to some great Penn State defense.
Eric Gibson - January 31, 2012
Man I wish I could be there.
I’ll have to settle with abandoning productivity to check for updates on my phone.
Everytime I read the phrase “great Penn State defense” it makes me happy inside.
dwf5095 - January 31, 2012 via mobile
Woo!
James - January 31, 2012
Good first half
Fantastic defense. Bullshit no call on wisconsin in the final possession.
ReddWhitenBlue - January 31, 2012
PSU up 23-17 at the half.
Some terrible calls in the last two minutes.
PSU shooting 45% even though Frazier is 2-8 from the floor.
Eric Gibson - January 31, 2012
The travel on Woodyard looked like a bad call for sure
If he would’ve been able to take the ball back out they get the last shot up 8 with a chance to take it to 10 or 11. I think we should have tried to foul Taylor one more time with a foul to give when they had it at 8 seconds because that would’ve probably taken it down to 4 or 5 and pretty much a desperate last second shot with no chance for rebound like they ended up getting.

That jsut made my day!
Coolest thing he’s ever done! Truly, it’s nice seeing Penn State employees doing something in honor of JoePa.
belbijou - January 31, 2012
this deserves a WE ARE!
BMAN13 - January 31, 2012
Penn State!
belbijou - January 31, 2012
Penn State!
That’s great. Love seeing that.
psfann - January 31, 2012
PENN STATE!!!!!!!!!!

Nice job Pat.
CvilleLion - January 31, 2012
Pat
makes it really, really, really easy to like him. I’m already psyched for next season & beyond.
Tailgate Shogun - January 31, 2012
Pat is the freakin man
I think one of the many reasons I’ve come around on BOB is because I see a lot of Pat Chambers in him.
LAPSU - February 1, 2012
I'm optimistic for the 2nd half
But it seemed like Wisconsin missed a lot of open 3’s, I can’t imagine it happening all 2nd half, but we’ll see…
mundyscorner99 - January 31, 2012
Defense
Is really hampering Wisky, forcing them to go deep in the shot clock.
AriesGD - January 31, 2012
Ugly half on offense.
If we don’t turn it on soon, we’re not going to score 40.
Wisky up 4 with 12 minutes to go.
Eric Gibson - January 31, 2012
Ten minutes into the second half and we've only scored 3 points!
OneBlueStripe - January 31, 2012
To me, this team seems better than last year
Their game doesn’t seem frantic and chaotic.
Mr. Rosewater - January 31, 2012
On defense absolutely
Offense, not so sure I agree.
AriesGD - January 31, 2012
Shooting on this team is definitely not as good
Mr. Rosewater - January 31, 2012
Last year's team with this year's coach would be something special.
Adam Collyer - January 31, 2012
This one is gonna piss me off
I havent been completely upset with their other loses. This one I am because they absolutely should have won this game. They had complete control and blew it. Young team i guess.
ReddWhitenBlue - January 31, 2012
I know,
Was thinking the same. Played so well on defense, but couldn’t hit a damn shot to save their lives. Very frustrating.
AriesGD - January 31, 2012
Let's also give credit where credit is due
Bo Ryan and the UW team stopped by the Paterno statue to pay respects and drop off a signed hat as a memorial offering.
Well done, gents.
Tailgate Shogun - January 31, 2012
Very classy move
Major props to Bo, and his team.
AriesGD - January 31, 2012
Talor Battle approves of Bo Ryan
as if you needed to know more. He’s a class act.

This "new" version
of Rock and Roll PSU sucks! Just go back to the old version because this is just trying too hard.
psu1313 - January 31, 2012
Just thinking the same
Trying to hard to be different, but still the same. Was not good at all.
AriesGD - January 31, 2012
Yeah, I'm in favor of just scrapping it altogether.
New version isn’t different enough for me to respect the decision, but it’s enough to piss me off.
Eric Gibson - January 31, 2012
so much this
ckmneon - January 31, 2012
Well, at least it was close
Mr. Rosewater - January 31, 2012
Much closer than I would've thought.
The scoring problems are just unreal. The defense let down there for a while, but when we can’t score, we have to be flawless everywhere else and that’s just not going to happen against a team as good as Wisconsin.
Eric Gibson - January 31, 2012
The last 2 minutes of the first half
were probably the 2 worst officiated minutes of basketball I’ve ever seen, and ever bad call and no call went Wisconsin’s way. Might have been the difference in the game.
ckmneon - January 31, 2012
Four things to take away from this game
1) You can’t win a game shooting 6/12 for Free Throws. Especially when you lose by 6.
2) Officiating was horrid in the first half. I have never seen so many missed traveling and over the back calls.
3) Second time I’ve heard the Blue Band play the new “We Will Rock You.” It’s growing on me.
4) Did anyone see the halftime show? If not, imagine one guy juggling another guy in the air while guy in the air is doing flips. Can’t find video, but it was nuts.
Lion Eyes - February 1, 2012
Point one is why I just can't force myself to feel bad for PSU losing that one
as for point two, you’re right, but I thought it was fairly uniformly horrid for the first 18 minutes. The last two minutes would have been a travesty against anybody, let alone a home team.
