So, here we are, fresh off of a stunning shellacking of Purdue with Indiana coming to the BJC today. From a general college basketball perspective, it's great to see Indiana back to their winning ways. From a Penn State perspective, ehhh, not so much as this will undoubtedly be the strongest Indiana team they have faced in about five years.

I hope we continue our inspired play.
But all signs say we’re gonna get housed. This team is for real. Since we have the home court, I’m holding out hope we can keep it in the teens.
If it’s in Assembly, it’s over. Until now, we’ve forgotten how hard that place can rock.

I'd love for us to win this one
Or at least to keep it tight. I think Chambers has this team going in the right direction.
ppfcpp - January 8, 2012
Indiana, you are about to be Colella'd.
BEHREND STRONG
Salt - January 8, 2012
So far...
we’re keeping it close. We have a nice little burst. I just have my doubts we can keep pace for 40 minutes.
sReck3 - January 8, 2012
Have to love the effort so far.
Chambers really has them playing hard. Hopefully IU will cool down a little bit.
James - January 8, 2012
I love this team.
psuphiman80 - January 8, 2012
This team looks like they'd take a bullet for any of their teammates
I love it. Absolutely love it. They’ve excited, they’re playing loose, having fun, and good things are happening.
psuwxman - January 8, 2012
Bill O'Brien at the game
Nice! Hope he gets to see an upset.
mundyscorner99 - January 8, 2012
You know what? I like BOB
I like the way he comes off – honest and smart.
He’s saying all the right things. Hopefully it’s because he’s the right guy, and not just because he was told to say it. I think it’s the former though.
ppfcpp - January 8, 2012
DON'T DRAW ANYTHING FROM CHARLIE WEIS OH MY GOD
psuphiman80 - January 8, 2012
I don't think this is the pace of game we want to play vs Indiana
We are hitting shots early but I don’t think PSU can sustain this offense.
mundyscorner99 - January 8, 2012
I've gotta think that there's no way our gameplan
is to keep shooting quick threes.
ppfcpp - January 8, 2012
We need to drive to the basket more
Seems when we have been doing that , having some success, and opens up the perimeter for a possible opne 3 look.
AriesGD - January 8, 2012
Graham could really be an asset as the reason goes on.
psuphiman80 - January 8, 2012
Defense real scrappy at times
But sometimes forgets about the open guy behind the arch.
AriesGD - January 8, 2012
They look like they're feeling more comfortable with Chambers' offense.
Swinging the ball more, and less of Frazier monopolizing the ball. Looks more like the Villanova offense. Also, they’re going harder with the ball pressure/denial D.
Salt - January 8, 2012
Ross Travis. Strong
psuphiman80 - January 8, 2012
I'm very, very impressed at how well the guys are playing today.
They’ve really been missing Jon Graham down low. It’s too bad Indiana has so many ridiculous shooters.
PSUEnrg02 - January 8, 2012
Seriously.
Say that one kid is something more reasonable from behind the arc, like 3-6 instead of 5-6, this is a one-point lead for PSU going into the half. We’re playing some fine basketball today.
The more I watch this team, the more I like them.
psuwxman - January 8, 2012
Yeah
They have come a long way since the beginning of the season. Chambers system staerting to take form, and is exciting to see this from a PSU team.
AriesGD - January 8, 2012
Nice little run here towards the end of the Half
Be real good to keep it to single digits going into half, build the guys confidence up for the second.
AriesGD - January 8, 2012
Borovnjak just magically produced an Olajuwon-like fadeaway.
They should let him put “Sasa” on the back of his jersey.
Salt - January 8, 2012
Huge shot by Frazier there
AriesGD - January 8, 2012
Dumb by Colella there. D'oh.
PSUEnrg02 - January 8, 2012
Considering the pace was so much faster than we wanted
I’m ok with being down by 5 at half.
ppfcpp - January 8, 2012
Impressed with the first half
bad ending though. im sure Chambers will address that ending in the locker room
ReddWhitenBlue - January 8, 2012
Liam Nissen fighting wolves? What's not to love?
psuphiman80 - January 8, 2012
Motivation
I wonder whether that movie is based on the DirecTV commercial.
psfann - January 8, 2012
Liam = PSU
Wolves = hack journalists
Mr. Rosewater - January 8, 2012
I've seen so many PSU teams fold after spotting a 10 point lead in the 2nd half
It’s so refreshing to see this team battle back time after time after time. This is great.
psuwxman - January 8, 2012
Little known fact..
That water bottle Crean sips on is Glenlivet 12 year scotch.
View from the Booth - January 8, 2012
Just an awesome effort from PSU today.
Indiana is just ridiculous shooting those dagger threes. Nice to see Colella get one though.
It looks like Tim has given up on taking the outside shot. That might be trouble.
PSUEnrg02 - January 8, 2012
I just turned to the game
so we should win now
Mr. Rosewater - January 8, 2012
well that sucks
Hoosiers on fire
Mr. Rosewater - January 8, 2012
I don't remember the last time Indiana missed a 3.
Salt - January 8, 2012
Don't understand why they started fouling Indiana so early.
PSUEnrg02 - January 8, 2012
Also, it really seems like Indiana is getting a lot of calls because they're ranked
and we’re not.
PSUEnrg02 - January 8, 2012
Marshal with the jam!!!
PSUEnrg02 - January 8, 2012
Yeah, Colella gets called on that three at the end of the half
but no call on that hack on Marshall. Indiana’s the better team, but there’s some BS here today. Definitely no home cooking.
PSUEnrg02 - January 8, 2012
Hell of an ending here
AriesGD - January 8, 2012
I didn't get to watch most of this game
Was having brunch with my family, got back in time to see the last 3:00 with IU up nine. Glad to see PSU fighting and clawing to the very end. Need IU to miss a free throw here and make it a one possession game.
Tim Aydin - January 8, 2012
I will say this
There is a fight in this team
Mr. Rosewater - January 8, 2012
So BoB
Came to bothe PSU b-ball games, and in each game we were down at the half, clawed our way back in it, and now will lose both by a few points.
He is a B-Ball jinx!!!
AriesGD - January 8, 2012
Penn State played a great game.
It’s virtually impossible to stop a team that shoots the three and free throws that well. Plus they definitely had the refs on their side today. Still, awesome effort by our guys. Lots to build on! I don’t want to see anyone write that DeChellis left Chambers with a dearth of talent. The talent is clearly there. I’m excited for the rest of the year, and really excited for next year!
PSUEnrg02 - January 8, 2012
Can someone name the last time a team has hit 16 3s in a game?
Besides an NBA game, ive never seen it in college.
ReddWhitenBlue - January 8, 2012
What about the OSU game on senior day last year?
Deibler hit 10 of them. It wouldn’t surprise me if there were 6 more by the rest of OSU’s team.
PSUEnrg02 - January 8, 2012
It's not totally rare.
Florida averages 11.
Salt - January 8, 2012
11 is one thing
16 is another. That is 15 more points
ReddWhitenBlue - January 8, 2012
Coppin State relies more on the 3 ball than anyone else
42.6% of their points come from 3s, and they make about 9.85 per game.
Samford is #2 in 3-ball reliance. They made 15 in a (massive upset) win over Texas-Arlington. Took them 36 attempts.
ckmneon - January 9, 2012
Good game.
I’m still not sure how we kept it so close given how unconscious Indiana was from three. Turnovers and offensive boards, I guess.
It may be safe to say that’s the best shooting team we’ll play all year.
Salt - January 8, 2012
There were a couple 3's
I thought we could have defended a bit better, but jesus, not much you can do when the entire IU team turns into Ray Allen.
That’s two good games in a row against some good competition. I call that some serious improvement after having to fight to put away some scrubs earlier in the season.
LAPSU - January 8, 2012
Good week for the team
A big win against Purdue and a competitive loss against a hot shooting IU. I’d say that we beat expectations for the week. Hope we can build on this and keep improving. I still think it’ll be a rough season, but more performances like this week and I’ll be very happy.
psfann - January 8, 2012
I consider this is an even better effort than the 20 pt win vs Purdue
Purdue was bricking everything, but IU couldn’t miss, and PSU still found a way to stay in a game that was definitely not at their tempo. Great effort and hopefully something to build on.
Somehow PSU has to improve on their perimeter defense because the announcers mentioned that PSU gives up the highest % of total points allowed on 3’s in the nation. It was evident today that is where the improvement needs to happen.
mundyscorner99 - January 8, 2012
Moral victory I gues
I’ll always wonder how this game ends differently if Roth doesn’t get away with the foul on the Marshall dunk. That could have cut it from a 4 pt game down the stretch to a 1 possession game
ckmneon - January 8, 2012
Dont forget the steal that the ref missed and the consistent traveling of Hulls
