For The Kids. Follow along on Twitter via the #THON12 hashtag. Background for those who are somehow unfamiliar:
http://www.thon.org/whatisthonIn 1973, a small group of dedicated Penn State students held our first Dance Marathon. That year, 39 dancer couples participated and raised $2,000. Since then, THON’s presence in the Penn State community has grown exponentially. THON now has over 15,000 student volunteers, 700 dancers, and has raised more than $78 million, benefiting The Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.
THON is now a year-long effort that raises funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer. With the support of students from all across the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and THON Alumni all around the world, we continue to make great strides towards finding a cure for all childhood cancers!

In case you missed it
Here’s the lyrics to the line dance
apy5000 - February 17, 2012
As someone who is currently in the BJC and does not anticipate leaving for at least another 10 hours...
Thank you so much to everyone supporting THON. It really does mean a lot to current students to know that there are alumni cheering us on.
My THON kid would like me to add that she says hello.

Enjoy!

Why do you got to steal my thunder Chris
I post a open thread to THON, and then you do?
AriesGD - February 18, 2012
Sorry, missed it.
Chris Grovich - February 18, 2012
It's cool
For now…
AriesGD - February 18, 2012
Could never dance for medical reasons.
But THON represents some of the best times I’ve ever had at Penn State. But this happened exactly 10 years ago…
Jeff Junstrom - February 18, 2012
Thats an awesome sign
AriesGD - February 18, 2012
10 years ago is the year I danced
I think i remember that sign but not sure now if from then or if you posted that picture here before
psupride - February 18, 2012
Such an awesome weekend
dancing was one of absolute highlights of my PSU time.
However, we had “real” THON for 48 hours. Not any of this namby pamby 46 hours nonsense. Hey cancer, get off my lawn!
Tailgate Shogun - February 18, 2012
we just cared more back then
psupride - February 18, 2012
at least 2 hours more
psupride - February 18, 2012
Word.
Tailgate Shogun - February 19, 2012
Seriously.
It doesn’t sound like much, unless you were on your feet for 46 hours straight, at which point 2 more hours seems much more difficult. Also, in honor of Thon, I’m having another drink, then going the f@#k to bed.
jesse. - February 19, 2012
I dare say
I look forward to this weekend more than Blue-White weekend.
smashtheguitar - February 18, 2012
Going up on Sunday
So excited. I’m bringing two ‘converts’ (didn’t go to PSU, but love the school), and keep trying to explain to them that THIS is what PSU is about. They don’t understand now, but they will in about 24 hours!

Line Dance question
“Pitt and Philly fans unite” I didn’t get that memo – what are they talking about?
psupride - February 18, 2012
Both the Bucs and the Phillies had THON nights
dwf5095 - February 18, 2012 via mobile
it was an obvious plea for world peace
letsgopsu - February 18, 2012
Rolls off the tongue
more fluidly than “Israel and Iran, quit dicking around with nuclear weapons!”
Tailgate Shogun - February 19, 2012
In honor of THON, I hope the
Lion wrestling team destroys Pitt tomorrow.
Thank you all, past/current participants and donors.
PSU_Lions_84 - February 18, 2012
Does anyone know
When they announce the final total? I would like to watch that live.
Also was there any special speakers? Sue Pa or Paterno’s?
AriesGD - February 19, 2012
Thon is over at 4
They should announce the total sometime between 4 and 5pm.
ppfcpp - February 19, 2012
Thanks
AriesGD - February 19, 2012
NP. Also, I just saw your second question.
I know that both Coach Chambers and BOB spoke early Friday. I missed BOB (was out on a food run) but I did get to see Chambers and his speech was good.
ppfcpp - February 19, 2012
I saw BoB speak
Also can find it on youtube now. Not bad, he really need to work on motivational speeches, I guess I and we have been spoiled by Joe who really knew how to give a speech to large crowds to get them going.
Will need to find Chambers speak, I am sure he knows how to give a good speech impromptu.
AriesGD - February 19, 2012
Jay spoke to kick off the final four hours
And was amazing, as he has been throughout all of this.
Also, I’d expect the total to be announced by 4:45.
LegalLion - February 19, 2012
Damn, must have just missed that
Will have to wait until somoen posts that on youtube for me to watch.
Ahh 445, good, hopefully i don’t forget while I watch our men’s b-ball team
AriesGD - February 19, 2012
Aries, they are announcing org totals now.
Overall total should be revealed soon.
ppfcpp - February 19, 2012
Yeah, watching now
Some great numbers so far.
AriesGD - February 19, 2012
As someone who was there for a good portion of Friday and Saturday
The energy in the BJC was unreal. Really, just an amazing time. Thanks to everyone who contributed.
I’m looking forward to seeing the total.
ppfcpp - February 19, 2012
Yay for 1$10.6 million!
tadhg - February 19, 2012
$10.686,924.83
More than 1 million more than last year. Amazing!!!
AriesGD - February 19, 2012
I'm looking for 2 videos...
…can someone post the links for these?
1.) SuePa talking at Thon 2012
2.) The football team’s dance at the pep rally with Mike Wallace doing the Carlton
tadhg - February 19, 2012
Did Sue talk?
Also I would like to see a video of Chambers speaking, and the team danceoffs.
I don’t doubt in the next few days youtube will have them all.
AriesGD - February 19, 2012
Sue spoke prior to Thon
there is a Fanshot (nobody reads em)
