I guess it takes a Big Ten Championship to finally get some recognition for this Lady Lions team. Maggie Lucas earned this honor more for her 28-point outing against Purdue earlier in the week, but also chimed in with a double-digit game in the Reagan-Smashing of Ohio State.
From the Big Ten release:
• Helped Penn State secure at least a share of the Big Ten Championship after averaging 20 points on the week and recording her first career double-double in the clinching win against Ohio State
• Scored a game-high 28 points, shooting 5-of-7 from 3-point range, to lead Penn State to a road win against nationally ranked Purdue on Thursday
• Recorded her first career double-double against Ohio State, scoring 12 points and pulling in 10 rebounds, securing a piece of the Lady Lions’ first Big Ten title since 2004 and the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten Tournament
• Claims her first career Big Ten Player of the Week honor
• Last Penn State Player of the Week: Tyra Grant (Jan. 27, 2009)

Good for her
Hard to believe it’s been so long between someone winning player of the week awards.

It really is about time here
Maggie has been tearing it up on the floor all year long. That home Michigan State game, was almost won by her alone. Ridiculous to believe that it has been 3 years since the BIG recognized our Lady Lions.
Great win, and great for Maggie, who had an off night shooting last night on top of it.

Yes, about time. She was Freshman of the Week several times last season, but ignored this time 'round.
Our gals have gotten very little respect from Big Ten. If the team didn’t win big, nobody got recognition. Alex Bentley had some stellar games, too, that went almost unnoticed outside PSU.

They've got a McDonald's All American coming in
Candice Agee from California who’s listed as a 6’6 F/C.
That’s all I really know about their recuiting but I know that’s really good.

Congradulations to Maggie and the Women's team.
Still a young team, Coquese is building a great program, maybe some love for her and BiG coach of the year.
